ANDREW JOHN DEWAR

Andrew is the Managing Partner of Rockwood and has over 20 years of experience in private equity where he has occupied various roles.

Andrew joined the Absa Capital Investment team in May 2006 as Principal. He led the private equity team through the disposal by Absa of its investment in Absa Capital Private Equity Fund I (now Rockwood Fund I) in December 2013 and in the subsequent creation of Rockwood.

Andrew has been extensively involved in sourcing and executing investments.  Prior to joining Absa Capital, he was a partner at KPMG where he worked from 1993 to 2006.  There he founded the Transaction Services and Private Equity team.  During his time at KPMG he also initiated and managed the Industrial and Automotive Transaction Services Team as well as the KPMG Private Equity group.  He has advised on over 200 transactions, with clients ranging from large international organizations to both listed and unlisted South African companies.

He currently serves on the boards of directors of Bravo Brands and Global Roofing Solutions, and previously served on the boards of Tsebo, EnviroServ, and Kwikspace.

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), and holds a Bachelor of Accounting Degree as well as a Diploma in Agriculture.
